Our story

We grow floors slowly, the way a valley grows a forest: patiently, and with respect for what comes after us.

LARIX Parquet began in 1958 in a single Alpine workshop, pressing herringbone by hand for the chalets and civic halls of the region. Almost seventy years later the presses are larger and the reach is global, but the belief has not moved. A floor should outlive the people who lay it. Everything we make starts in responsibly managed forests and ends as a surface that families walk on for decades.

Sourced responsibly

Every plank is traceable to a managed European forest. We plant more than we take, and we can tell you which valley your floor grew in.

Made in the Alps

Cutting, drying and finishing all happen within a day of the forest. Short journeys, tight tolerances, and hands that have done this for years.

Built for generations

Solid wear layers can be sanded and re-oiled many times over. A LARIX floor is repaired, not replaced, and it ages into character.

Honest materials

Natural oils, real oak and larch, no shortcuts hidden under a coating. What you see on the surface is what runs all the way through.

Precision learned from the mountains

Wood that survives an Alpine winter has to be worked with care. That discipline shaped our house: exact moisture control, calm timelines and joinery measured in fractions of a millimetre. The result is a floor that stays flat, quiet and true for a very long time.

We buy from forests that are managed for the long term, dry with recovered heat, and turn offcuts into energy rather than waste. Sustainability here is not a label on the box, it is the reason the business can still exist in another seventy years.
