Inspiration

A LARIX floor is the first thing laid and the last thing to leave a room. Start with the floor, and the rest of the space follows.

Millions of square metres of LARIX parquet are installed every year, in living rooms, hotel suites, boutiques and studios. Browse by the kind of space you are building, then borrow the ideas that fit your own project.

Residential

Homes that grow warmer with use

In a home the floor sets the temperature of the whole room. Herringbone in a mid honey tone brings a period apartment to life, while a wide plank in Sabbia lets a new build feel settled from the first day.

Hospitality

Floors that take a thousand nights a year

Hotels and restaurants ask a floor to look calm and survive constant traffic. A solid Larix Rustic board hides the wear of daily service and can be spot repaired in place, so a lobby keeps its welcome for decades.

Retail

A surface that lets the product lead

A shop floor should disappear beneath what it holds. Linea Mosaic in a pale Blanca reflects window light without glare, wears hard at the door, and gives a boutique a quiet, considered base that never competes with the shelves.

Workplace

Offices that sound and feel calmer

Wood underfoot softens a working day. Spinline herringbone gives an open studio warmth and a gentle acoustic, and because the surface is oiled rather than sealed, a busy office can refresh a worn zone without closing the whole floor.

Before the floor

Four habits for building a room around the wood rather than over it.

01

Let the tone lead

Pick the floor tone first, then walls and textiles. A warm Miele wants soft neutrals, while a pale Blanca can carry stronger colour above it.

02

Light before colour

Look at the floor in your own daylight. North light cools every tone, so order a sample and live with it for a few days before you decide.

03

Rugs and thresholds

Leave a margin of visible wood around rugs, and run the same board through doorways so a home reads as one continuous, calm surface.

04

Repair, not replace

Design for the long life of an oiled floor. Plan the layout so a worn zone can be sanded and re-oiled in place, not lifted and thrown away.
