Sustainability We Can Measure

For Verdano, sustainability is not a slogan on the letterhead. It is carbon in the soil, cleaner water leaving the farm, and habitat that stays, all of it measured and reported in the open.

Our Position

We think the most honest thing a regenerative company can do is put numbers next to its promises, publish the seasons that fall short, and let the soil, the water, and the wildlife be the judge of the work.

Sustainability at Verdano runs on the same measurement backbone as every service we sell. If we cannot measure it on a real farm, we do not claim it.

Our Commitments
In Plain Terms

Four Promises We Are Willing to Be Measured Against

Two people shaking hands in a wheat field at sunset

Carbon in the Ground

We draw carbon down into living soil and measure it with sampling, not estimates or offsets bought elsewhere.

Water Left Cleaner

We design every farm to use less water and return what it does use cleaner than it arrived.

Habitat That Stays

We protect pollinators, waterways, and native habitat as working parts of the farm, not leftovers.

Reported in the Open

We publish what we measure, including the seasons that fall short, because trust is built on the full picture.

Measured Impact

The Numbers Behind the Promises

Tracked across every farm in our programs and published in the annual impact report, shortfalls and all.

128,000
Tonnes CO2e Captured

Measured soil carbon drawn down across partner farms since 2021.

-34%
Irrigation Water Used

Average cut against each farm's pre-program baseline.

96%
Native Habitat Kept

Share of mapped habitat corridors retained or restored.

100%
Farms Reported On

Every partner farm's figures published, shortfalls included.

What We Hold Ourselves To
Regenerative Practices

The Work That Makes the Numbers Move

Commitments are only as good as the practices behind them. These four do most of the heavy lifting on every farm we work.

Cover & Rotation

Living roots in the ground year-round to feed soil life and hold nutrients where the crop can reach them.

Reduced Tillage

Disturbing the soil less so structure, fungal networks, and stored carbon have a chance to build.

Integrated Water

Catchment, storage, and irrigation designed together so every drop does more work across the season.

Biodiversity Strips

Hedgerows, margins, and habitat corridors that bring pollinators and natural predators back to the field.

Reporting

Measured, Published, and Open to Question

  • Annual Impact Report covering soil carbon, water, and biodiversity across every partner farm.
  • Third-Party Verified soil-carbon sampling, so the headline numbers are not only ours.
  • Field-Level Data shared back with each grower, not blended into a single flattering average.
  • Shortfalls Included, because a report that only shows wins is marketing, not measurement.
